HISTORY OF OUR COMPANY

1953: The company was founded under the name of Electrical Mass Product and Toy Factory. Its first products are: whistles for referees, component parts for power-looms and switches. Number of employees: 7 persons

1961-1963: The " ancestor " of the presently existing range of products was created namely the line of industrial push buttons and indicating lamps for hole of 30 and 33 mm in diameter. That time the number of employees was 70 persons.

1975-1988: In the period the company had been joined to KONTAKTA which had its headquarters in Budapest. The range of products was expanded. Rocker switches , switches of household appliances (washing machine, spin-drier, refrigerator, freezer, vacuum-cleaner) appeared among the products. We purchased the licence for manufacturing push buttons in diameter of 16 mm from the German company called RAFI. The number of the staff increased up to 450 persons.

1989: The company became independent again from under the name "Vezérléstechnikai Alkatrészgyártó Vállalat" (Company for Manufacturing Components for Control Technics). In order to extend the range of our products we bought licence and know-how from the German Klöckner-Moeller company to introduce manufacturing of the line of operating devices with diameter of 22 mm.

1990: The political changes of the year , collapse of the "KGST" (COMECON), the crisis of the machine industry resulted in the reduction of the market to 30-40 %. The number of the staff decreased to 200 persons.

1992: The company became a share company as the property of the state.

1993: Then in March our company has been privatised by MRP (86,3 %). (MRP means worker-owned) In 1993 we began to widen the market, to improve our products and to build up our quality control system. The result is the widening of the market by 30%.

1994: Since September an ISO 9001 quality system certified by TÜV has been operating. We concluded a wage labour contract for assembly capacity of 30 persons with German company Klöckner-Moeller. The number of our staff began to grow again. Financially the company has been stabilized with 5 % export of the total turnover.

1995: We won IISA SHIBA prize for our TQM-based quality control system activity. The prize we won was the highest degree in the category of industry (1st prize). On the 14th of September 1995 the company raised its registered capital from 100 million HUF to 160 million HUF. A Dutch financial investment company (VCH) joined with 25 % so we became a Hungarian-Dutch joint venture. On 1st December 1995 we bought the Mezõtúr factory of KAEV, a Budapest company. We doubled our manufacturing territory (plus 7000 m2) and our capacity in order to expand our activity with a new - metal processing - profile (rollers, wheels, machine parts for the light industry). Number of employees on 1st December 1995: 315 persons.

1996: We competed for the National Quality Prize of Hungary and we obtained the "theoretical" second place in our own category.

1998: A new quality assurance system ISO 9001:2000 was introduced. The MRP organization ceased to function, the shares became privately- owned.

1999: The factory introduced an enviromental- centered management system: MSZEN ISO 14001:1997.

2002: The VA RT. became a 100% Hungarian owned company.

2003: The separation of the 2 plants started in accordance with the decision of the general meeting. The number of employens at plant No:1 is 170.

2004: The company purchased new molding machines.
